"Breaking Bad", "True Detective", "House of Cards" e "Game of Thrones" guadagnano la nomination per il riconoscimento più atteso ai prossimi Emmy Awards 2014, quella per la categoria "Best Drama". Spiccano nella categoria "Best Comedy Series" le rivelazioni "Orange is the new black" e "Veep" (in onda proprio in questi giorni in Italia, su Sky Atlantic HD). Per "Breaking Bad" questa è l'ultima partecipazione ai prestigiosi Oscar della Tv, avendo concluso la sua corso nel settembre 2013. Un percorso che finisce nel migliore dei modi con un altra nomination anche per Bryan Cranston come "Best Actor in a Drama". Dovrà vedersela con Kevin Spacey, immenso Francis Underwood nella seconda stagione di "House of Cards", contro Jeff Daniels ("The Newsroom"), Jon Hamm ("Mad Men") e contro il duo della serie rivelazione "True Detective", Woody Harrelson e Matthew McConaughey. La serie HBO, che nei prossimi giorni annuncerà la castlist per la seconda stagione, si è guadagnata anche una nomination come "Best Drama".

Una bella lotta per la categoria "Miniseries" dove "Fargo" su FX sembra essere il favorito sugli altri: "American Horror Story: Coven" (FX), "Bonnie and Clyde" (A&E), "Luther" (BBC America), "Treme" (HBO) e "The White Queen" (BBC America). Tutti d'accordo per la categoria "Tv Movie": il dramma dell'Aids raccontato in "The Normal Heart" dovrebbe vincere, così come garantire il "Best Actor in a Miniseries or Movie" a Mark Ruffalo, insidiato solo da Billy Bob Thornton ("Fargo"). Ancora una volta può sorridere il servizio on demand Netflix per la presenza di ben due serie nei posti di rilievo: "House of Cards" e l'esordiente "Orange is the new Black" daranno del filo da torcere a tutti. La cerimonia si terrà il 25 agosto e sarà trasmessa in diretta sulla NBC dal Nokia Theatre, conduce il comedian Seth Meyers.
